its been so long!!!

Well, i'm officially back on the band wagon dressed in my gym gear and just about to head out for a workout.

I had a lovely time in melbourne, will post some pics up soon to prove it! Since coming home, i have quit my job and started uni - studying primary teaching!!

After about a month (!!!) off, i am back to eating plan and working out. Here are my changes:
- Calorie limit has been changed to 1450 (from 1600)
- fat intake changed to 42gms (from 55gms)
- re-done my goals and targets which i will share in a mo'.
- new music on my ipod to help me stay motivated in the gym
- developed a weekly plan and scheduled gym work-outs!

So i weighed myself this morning, and official weight is...
87.1!

Actually quite happy with that - only gained 300gms since i bailed on my new regime!
But here are my new goals:

Still would like to be 65 kilos by my birthday (9th August 2010)
Mini goals:
82 kilos by end of March
78 kilos by end of April
74 kilos by end of May
70 kilos by end of June
66 kilos by end of July

Anyway, as you can see i have photoshopped miranda kerr and put my face in to inspire me!! hahaha
It was a bit of a joke really - as if shes 65kgs!
But i will look just as hot as her one day (maybe?)

Anyway - i'm off to the gym to get on the treadmill (aka. revolving apparatus of death) to burn off some cals! Gotta lose this ass.

Boxing

So.. did a boxing class last night! It was good cos it was something different to what i usually do. I'll give you a quick rundown as to what happened:
When we first got to class, there was about 20 people ready to go in - quite a lot!!
The trainer guy went round and introduced himself to everyone, and he said that he had one rule - if any one of us stop more than once, we must leave the class! And to get ready to work VERY hard! pfft!!! i was freasking out! i was ready to just walk out there and then!

Okay, so my sister dragged me in, and he also added that if her hears us talking, than it would be 10 situps, 10 pushups and 10 starjumps! Who was this guy??

For the first 15 minutes, we were running, doing pushups, sit-ups, all sorts. I was already pretty tired, then we broke up into groups, kind of doing circuit training. Half the time, we were doing combinations of punches and hook punches, then the other half we were doing weights.

To be perfectly honest, i didn't really feel COMPLETELY exhausted and red-faced at the end. The cardio at the start probably worked me the hardest. Also it was hard to say i really enjoyed myself because he was a bit mean. I think he was a little but nicer to me cos i was probably the biggest and most un-fit person in the room!

Anyway, VERDICT: was fun for something different, but probably wont try that class again. Might try a different boxing class at my gym. Although i said i didn't feel properly worked, i do have sore shoulders, and back this morning! So maybe it worked me more than i thought?

Anyway. so lets revise on my goal for the week:

Monday - Gym session (cardio + weights) DONE
Tuesday - Boxing class - sisters gym. DONE
Wednesday - Gym session - 30 mins cardio
Thursday - Zumba class (60 mins)
Friday - Wii Yoga (20 mins)
Saturday - REST
Sunday - REST ( maybe Wii?)
So i'm planning on going to the gym tonight to do my half hour on the treadmill. I'll take a rest from the weights. I've done it for the past couple of days so should give them a rest so my muscles can repair itself.
Also want an early night in bed tonight. Yesterday and today i have been pretty tired in the morning. Its been 2 pretty full on days so i'll get some extra rest tonight!!
I'm invisioning myself going shopping in melbourne and buying a size smaller!!! :)

Checking in - Gym membership, weigh in, and more!

Hi All!!
Well, i haven't posted for a little bit so i'll get you up to speed. I weighed in on Sunday:
Previous weight: 87.4
Current weight: 87.9
WHAT! Okay so before you all freak out - here is my thought process. I had fish and chips the previous night (not the total best choice, but i did have a small serving with a bit of salad too) - and that is very salty. I did drink a whole lot of water the day before so i thought it may have been water rentention.
Yesterday, i joined the gym! I got a 3 month membership (and then you get 1 month free). It cost me $285, but its something i can afford to do now, before i start being a poor uni student. This will get me through till May. I can do all their classes as well, so i'm going to put it to good use!
So i went to the gym yesterday as well and did 20 minute 'weight loss' program on the treadmill (or as fitnessista says: the revolving apparatus of death! hehe). Then i did half an hour on various weights, and then did another 5-10 mins on the eliptical. Was pretty dead after that, i have to say.
Now, i did jump on the scales yesterday too - and it was 86.6!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now, dont let the exclamation marks fool you - i'm not getting too exciting YET!
I will save that for next weigh in day!
So this is my exercise schedule for this week:
Monday - Gym session (cardio + weights) DONE
Tuesday - Boxing class - sisters gym
Wednesday - Gym session - 30 mins cardio
Thursday - Zumba class (60 mins)
Friday - Wii Yoga (20 mins)
Saturday - REST
Sunday - REST ( maybe Wii?)
Yes, as you can see i'm trying a boxing class tonight. Boxing has always been my favourite activity on the wii, and wanted to try a proper class out. I just think of all the people that think i can't do this and kick them in the gut (in my head of course). I'll let you know how it goes!
Btw - just before i go, i wanted to let you know, i put on my jeans (that i wore all the time before i started losing weight) and they were loose! Had to keep pulling them up every 2 seconds! yay!

Start of my weekend!

Just a quick entry!

I stayed at my sisters house yesterday to look after their house while they're away for a couple of days. I bought some yummys for dinner and this is what i ended up with -->

It was delish - just some egg coated Barramundi, with some stir-fried broccoli and garlic. All with a drizzle of lemon.

Well, being in a house away from yours takes you out of your little safe haven i have at home - hardly any junk food i can get my hands on! Haha. However one of my sisters neighbours brought round 6 Krispy Kremes as a gift! I was like WHAT!? I obviously have not eaten any, but it feel that life, once again, is wanting to rub it in my face of all the yummy things i cant eat just yet.

Don't get me wrong, i am not denying myself any yummy foods - i have had a piece of chocolate here and there, but occassionally in my head, i know i should not eat something - and when i have that internal battle, i know that i have to resist! I've come too far!

Didn't do any exercise last night, as wasnt at home to jump on the Wii - plus it was stinking hot last night! But i am going over my dads today to have a swim in the pool. Then tonight, when i'm back home, i will jump on the wii!

SO thats the plan people! Watch me stick to it!

I also just did my resolution/goal board last night, once i'm home, i'll post it for you all to see!

A breakfast worth getting up for....

Happy Wednesday! And Happy 50th Birthday Mum!

Guess what!? i got the new EA Active to play with yesterday:

Photobucket
Its sooo good. Well i am such a big fan of this EA stuff, the new one is located at a 'fitness resort' ooooh! so activities that it includes is water skiing, circuit training, sparring and targets, ab workouts. Its actually pretty good, and it makes me feel like i'm not really working out, but having fun! They also have a sprint game, where you jog lightly, and then you have to sprint to pass the next person. So it kind of has interval training in it too. It has heaps of step routines as well, but i want to get the attachment for the wii balance board to make it higher.

i did about 260 cals on the wii last night, and then i did a quick thing of weights - probly about 10-15 mins - did my arms, and a bit of my butt! They were actually quite sore by the end of it, but surprisingly - Not sore this morning!?

So, i've been reading the blog of fitnessista.com and she is awesome. She leads a really clean life (ie. Vegan and a PT). She has heaps of cool stuff on her site so you should check it out. I stole this recipe from her - for the breakfast cookie:
Photobucket

I tried it out this morning, and heres the recipe i used:

1/3 cup of traditional oats,
1 tablespoon of honey
sprinkling of cinnamon,
1 tbsn of sultanas
1 tbsn of dried apricots
1 small mashed banana.
Dash of milk
You put it into a bowl and stir it all together, put it on a plate and refrigerate overnight. wha-la. in the morning its scrumptious. i ate mine with a tiny bit of yogurt. Works out to be about 373 cals (without the yoghurt). However, i am going to try 'stevia' instead of honey - its a natural sweetner, with like no calories! I also thinks its meant to be a little harder than what it was this morning, so will try to eliminate the honey soon with the replacement.
The best thing about this is that you can change it up - Fitnessista puts carob, apple, protein powder, nut butter or cocoa powder in! And that works great for me because i get bored really easily!
I've been feeling really good physically lately. Emotionally i've been a bit exhausted as i've had so much happening lately - christmas, my mums bday, new years and work on every day in between. But exercising last night felt really good, my heart rate was up doing the skipping and sprinting, i was red-faced, but felt really relaxed at the same time. i actually think i'm looking much better in my body as well. Maybe i'll get the courage to post a photo of my 'whole' self shortly.

Spaghetti and Skipping

Well, yesterday wasn't as good a day as i was planning!!
There wasn't really much in my pantry for lunch yesterday, so i made a small bowl of nachos! I did restrict my cheese and portion size. This would have been an okay choice i think, if i had a healthy dinner.... HOWEVER, thats when it all went wrong!
I think i got my first hit of craving something bad. Thai was the craving specifically. I was tired and didn't feel like cooking anything - so takeaway thai was really tempting me.
So the good news is... i didn't get thai!!! And maybe we should just dwell on this for a moment! :)
That means i did resist what i was craving! I do think this is a bit of a step forward for me, because before, i was a girl who whatever she felt like eating, i went out and got - pretty much no self control!! But i did resist this time, and took myself to woolies to buy something.
And the bad news is.... i cooked spaghetti, and ate quite a bit of it. I did check the calories of the sauce at the supermarket (which was like hardly anything - about 25cals a serve), but what i didn't check was pasta. When i was munching down on it, i was thinking it would be aroung 500 cals. To my horror - 815 CALORIES!!! OMG! Spag bol seems innocent and tasty, but it is only the latter.
Anyway, i'm moving on, and deciding to have a really good day to make up for it. What i will invest in today is a skipping rope! Thats right.. the humble skipping rope. All i remember of skipping ropes is playing doubledutch at school! I found out it burns 75 cals per 5 minutes. My theory is, that i continue my normal fitness regime, but add in 10 mins moderate skipping a day, burning another 150 cals!! If i get my rope today, i will do my 10 minutes skipping tonight.
Another downside of yesterday is that i, again, excused my way out of my weights set!!! Whats wrong with me!! After my huge spaghetti, i became a lump on the sofa and lacked any willpower to move. Yep, thats the power of a plate of carbs at 7pm!
Shall i try again for tonight? I am really tired today, but i'm not going to use it as an excuse, usually when i start doing some exercise, it really wakes me up - its just making the first step!
Wish me luck!
I'll check in tonight, when i've actually put my butt into gear and done some exercise!

Motivated to Succeed

I did a little motivation board this morning. These bodies are amazing and i really want to get there one day!
~Enjoy!~
Last day before weigh-in tomorrow. I'm very excited actually. I'm really scared i'm going to lose motivation though. At this point, i'm all good (motivated), but i really don't want to lose that and just stop exercising.

Sometimes i find if i stop exercising for one night, then i'm less likely to do it the next. Perhaps i've just got to make sure that i do something, then i'll be fine.

Tonight, the Wii Active won't let me play because i've got to take a break! so, i'm going to go for a walk with Toby (my ever-so-cute Silky Terrier dog) and then i will do my weights and then maybe just a few fun games on Wii Fit.

I recently did a weights plan of the exercises that i want to do at home - so i make sure i get a well-rounded workout. Here they are:

  • Squats with 1 x 5kg weight (3 sets of 10)
  • Dumbbell Lunge (3 sets of 10)
  • Side Lunges with 2 x 3kg weights (3 sets of 10)
  • Swiss ball leg curl (3 sets of 10)
  • Bench dip (3 sets of 10)
  • Bicep Curl with 3kg weights (3 sets of 20)
  • Hammer Curl with 3kg weights (3 sets of 20)
  • Lying Tricep Extension with 3kg weights (3 set of 20)
  • Fit Ball Push-ups (3 sets of 10)
  • Ab-crunch on Fit ball (3 sets of 10)
  • Bicycle Kick ( 3 sets of 12 changes)
  • Dumbbell side Bend (3 sets of 10)
  • Plank (hold for as long as you can)
I don't know how long that will take me, so i'll test it out tonight! My Shoulders are a little sore from my Wii exercises last night, but hopefully they'll be feeling better tonight!

Anyway, it's only 6.40am, so have to get ready for work!
Yay - Saturday - tomorrow is my weekend!
